Welcoming Death with the Skeleton Key to Life, a 7-part series

Welcoming Death with the Skeleton Key to Life.

Life is our most epic adventure. The experiences we have, the people we meet, the hurdles thrown into our path, all are part of our Life journey. We think about what we want to be when we grow up, dream about the places we want to travel, but rarely to do we think about Death.

Usually, we avoid the thought. It's scary. It's sad. It's unwelcome. When we think about Death, we typically associate it with a negative emotion. . . Fear.

Aren't we supposed to face our fears? So, what if we face Death.

We know itis inevitable, and none of us are getting out of here alive. So instead of fearing Death, welcome Death and live Life to the fullest.

This six-part (+1 bonus) series provides a roadmap for getting one’s "house" and affairs in order — legally, financially, medically, and digitally. Whether you’re 18 or 80, planning ahead creates peace of mind for you and your loved ones.

Each post explores the what, who, when, and why of organizing life’s important matters, with references to key legal and financial authorities.

But before we begin, it’s important to reframe the conversation: preparing for Death is not about fear — it’s about Freedom. Death is inevitable, and by planning for it, we remove uncertainty and anxiety. Instead of a grim exercise, this process can be one of the most life-affirming things you ever do. It ensures that your love, values, and intentions endure, while also allowing you to live each moment more fully. When the practical “what-ifs” are handled, you can focus on the “right nows" and put to good use using the "about" 700,000 hours (79.9 years) you're born with. How many will you spend sleeping and leaving the rest to fate?

In conclusion, although the thought of death an dying is literally the last thing most people want to think about during life--preparing for the inevitable end will not only bring peace during life, but can give you peace of mind for after.
